have never seen one or any signs of bears. Even if you don't see a bear the bear you will see signs. Overturned trash bins, any bags, containers ripped open, trees scraped as they itch and massage their backs, musky smell, tracks, and ofcourse bear poop. a pile of it. Long story short, no bears in Panola... but as wildlife moves and searches for food anything could be possible. unlike Chattahoochee Forest, Appalachian Trail and Blue Ridge Mountains that warn that all food and scented products be hung in bear proof, scent proof containers... Panola doesn't.
I'm trying to plan a hotel sleepover with archery lesson the next day at Panola Mountain, but I'm confused about whether to look at hotels in Stockbridge or Lithonia. Any suggestions for what's nearby?
A:
Panola Mountain Park is northeast of Stockbridge, and there are no hotels in this immediate area. Try mapping Stockbridge or Conyers facilities; my guess is that Conyers is physically closer.
