President Donald Trump has deployed 2,000 more National Guard troops to Los Angeles to bring the total number of federal forces in the area to 4,800 to deal with the ongoing anti-immigration protests.

The 2,000 troops will join about 4,100 National Guard soldiers and 700 Marines who are already deployed in L.A.

Amid the back-and-forth between Hegseth and Democrats at a House Appropriations Committee defense subpanel hearing, the Pentagon's acting comptroller also told lawmakers that the LA deployments are expected to cost at least $134 million.
