A federal judge has issued a temporary restraining order preventing the Trump administration from moving forward with plans to shut down Job Corps centers across the United States, delivering a legal setback to the Department of Labor‘s attempt to dismantle the long-running federal youth program.

The U.S. Department of Labor had announced the nationwide pause on 99 Job Corps campuses across the country on May 29, 2025.

In late May, the U.S. Department of Labor said a "pause" on its Job Corps program would go into effect by the end of June.
