Birmingham Airport's website remains down more than an hour after it first announced its runway was closed on X. Passengers have been told to check their flight status before coming to the airport, but the website and its live departures board still appear to be inaccessible.

Birmingham Airport reopened its only runway on Wednesday, more than six hours after a small aircraft made an emergency landing due to landing gear failure, leaving one person with minor injuries. Birmingham Airport said in a statement that its operations had resumed following the aircraft incident.
