An 8-year-old girl remains missing following a Christmas Eve crash that killed her father, Texas authorities say. The Sherman Police Department said a vehicle left US-75 the morning of Dec. 24 and got caught in a drainage ditch, according to a Facebook post. The vehicle then traveled down a creek.

The trailer broke off from the Honda on impact and the SUV caught fire, DPS said, KAMR reported. Mpaweingabire died along with five passengers, including Mapendo Olga, 28, and four children, ages 6, 5, 4 and 2, according to investigators.
