Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday embarked on a three-day visit to South Africa to attend the G20 Summit in Johannesburg.

Shubman Gill is set to miss India 's second Test against South Africa starting on Saturday after failing to recover sufficiently from the neck injury he suffered last week. Vice captain Rishabh Pant will stand in as captain in Guwahati.

When India arrived in Guwahati for the second Test vs South Africa on November 22, they did not expect to be 1-0 down in the series. What is worse is that skipper Shubman Gill will miss the game due to a neck injury and Rishabh Pant shall lead in his place. Temba Bavuma’s men will look to inflict a whitewash.

After the ongoing Test Series gets over, India are all set to face South Africa in a three match ODI series beginning on November 30. This will be followed by a five-match T20I series beginning from December 9.

South Africa pulled off a sensational victory inside three days of the opening test against India on Sunday and the manner of it would go a long way in silencing those who doubted their credentials as the reigning world test champions.
