With a contending roster that needs a little depth on defense, the Green Bay Packers are rumored to be interested in bringing in Asante Samuel, Jr, for a workout.

The Green Bay Packers announced eight different roster moves on Tuesday, including the placement of tight end Tucker Kraft -- who tore his ACL in Week 9 -- on injured reserve and several accompanying moves to help Matt LaFleur's team move forward without the ascending tight end.

Samuel entered the NFL as a second-round pick (No. 47 overall) of the Chargers during the 2021 NFL Draft. He's registered 176 tackles and six interceptions in 50 career games (47 starts). Samuel is a starting-caliber cornerback when healthy. We've identified three potential fits for him in free agency.

Butler has reported that free agent cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. is a potential target. The Packers are "very" interested in the former Los Angeles Chargers' defensive back. He has just now been cleared to return to the field after dealing with a spine injury.
