San Diego Padres All-Star outfielder Jackson Merrill has been placed on the seven-day injured list after sustaining a concussion during Saturday night’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, per the Associated Press.

The Diamondbacks made a move to shore up their organizational pitching depth, signing right-hander Anthony DeSclafani to a major league contract and fitting him on the roster by optioning right-hander Bryce Jarvis to Triple-A Reno.

The Diamondbacks rallied for five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to walk off the Padres, 8-7, on Saturday night at Chase Field. Josh Naylor brought home the winner with a tapper to first, with Geraldo Perdomo beating the throw at the plate.
