Palestinians sheltering in tents and seeking food were among at least 33 people killed by Israeli strikes and shootings in Gaza today, after a famine was announced. It comes after warnings from aid groups for months that Israel’s restrictions on food into Gaza are causing starvation among civilians.

Advocates are renewing calls for Canada to recognize a genocide in Gaza following the release of a new report. A joint media investigation using the Israeli military's own data found at least five out of every six people killed by Israeli forces in the Israel-Hamas war have been civilians.
