President Jimmy Carter was long associated with peanuts. Carter grew up on his family's peanut farm, eventually expanding it into a profitable business and even campaigning with peanuts.

Carter was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosalynn Carter, who died in Nov. 2023, at 96. Alongside Rosalynn, the former president founded the Carter Center in 1982 as a humanitarian, nongovernmental and nonprofit organization.

Carter, who was the oldest living president, is remembered for brokering some massive agreements, plus tackling inflation that plagued the economy during the late 1970s.
