The Boston Red Sox have a hole at first base and it’s pretty clear that it isn’t going to be filled by Rafael Devers, at least in the near future. Devers spoke to the media on Thursday and made it clear that he was asked about the position but didn’t sound open to a short-term move.

Rafael Devers will not be replacing the injured Triston Casas at first after already making one position switch, and said as much emphatically to both the Red Sox front office and the media.
