The One, Big, Beautiful Bill recently passed the Senate with provisions that would increase after-tax income for millions of retired workers on Social Security.

President Donald Trump keeps saying that Republicans’ mega tax and spending cut legislation will eliminate taxes on federal Social Security benefits. It does not.

The bill creates a new deduction specifically for seniors 65 and over, which would relieve the tax burden on some 88% of them.
