The decision by the municipality was met with some condemnation by Israeli officials. Israeli ministers on Sunday strongly condemned reports of a ruling made by the Tel Aviv Municipality requiring dozens of synagogues in the city to sign a new contract that includes a clause stating that they must operate "without distinction of gender or faith.
Hebrew media reports that several more Palestinians have been arrested in Tel Aviv for alleged ties to a planned terror attack in the city. The arrests were carried out near the Tel Aviv Port. Reports say the Shin Bet sent out an alert earlier to day regarding the planned attack, leading to an hours-long manhunt.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will resume daily flights to Israel on Sept. 28. The route will include a stopover in Larnaca, Cyprus, to avoid crew staying overnight in Tel Aviv.
