News coverage of the immigration raids and protests in Southern California has transfixed Mexico, where reports have heavily sided with the immigrants against U.S. efforts to detain and deport them.

As a crowd of over 20,000 gathered in Los Angeles for the “No Kings” protest against President Trump’s immigration policies, police began clearing streets near federal buildings, deploying dispersal orders and less-lethal munitions on some overpasses.

Over 90 "No Kings" protests were taking place Saturday, June 14, across New York state as millions across the country are expected to take part in a "nationwide day of defiance."

Organizers of the “No Kings” demonstrations said millions had marched in hundreds of events. In Oregon, tens of thousands of people gathered in downtown Portland for two large protests -- one that began in Tom McCall Waterfront Park and the other at the Oregon Convention Center.

Demonstrations occurred across the United States on Saturday, June 14, as 'No Kings Day' protesters took aim at President Donald Trump's administration and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids.

Organisers said hundreds of demonstrations were held in a day of defiance to counter a military parade hosted by Trump.
