NEW YORK – Speedy and versatile infielder Jose Caballero was traded to the Yankees late Thursday afternoon, moving all the way from the visiting dugout. During the Yankees’ afternoon game against the Tampa Bay Rays at the Stadium, Caballero learned he’d been dealt to the home side – receiving hugs and well wishes from his old teammates.

The New York Yankees made nine trades to improve their roster, but if general manager Brian Cashman had it his way, there would have been more. The Yankees improved almost every corner of their roster.
