Investigators said that Trenton Wayne Thompson was riding a motorcycle south on Gillespie Street when a gray 2025 Chevy Equinox attempted to turn left onto Southern Avenue, colliding with the motorcycle. The impact caused the Chevy to strike a red 2005 GMC Envoy, which was stopped on Southern Avenue, waiting to turn left onto Gillespie Street.
