Cairo – Israeli airstrikes hit Yemen‘s capital on Sunday, days after Houthi rebels fired a missile toward Israel that its military described as the first cluster bomb the rebels had fired at it since 2023.

The Israeli strikes hit a facility owned by Yemen’s main oil company along with a power plant and a military site in an area where the presidential palace is located, according to the Houthis and Israel's military.

Israeli strikes in Yemen’s capital Sanaa killed at least six people, according to the country’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels, who have repeatedly launched missiles and drones at Israel throughout the Gaza war.
