Kilmar Abrego Garcia, whose case has come to encapsulate much of President Donald Trump 's hard-line immigration agenda, wants to seek asylum in the United States, his lawyers told a federal judge Wednesday.

Experts say sending a migrant to a third-party country that they have no connection to is a costly, complex and legally questionable move.

Abrego Garcia, 30, turned himself in to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, who said they would start processing him for deportation, although his lawyers vowed to sue to block any
