We’ve been calling the Steam Machine a video game console because that’s what little boxes that play games and sit next to the TV in your living room have been called for decades. Valve is adamant that this is not an accurate term for its device.
For the asking price of around P60,000 to P80,000 for the Steam Machine, consumers could easily opt into a fully-fledged budget gaming desktop instead, provided they were fine with sacrificing the compact form factor. For gamers trying to get the most frames out of every peso spent, that’s likely a tradeoff they’re willing to make.

Much like how one does not simply walk into Mordor, one does not simply buy a Valve Steam Machine, unless they have a lot of spare cash and some luck.
