Hard Rock Construction crews worked Wednesday to remove snow and ice from Canal Street and parts of the Downtown Development District. IV Waste, the city's largest trash hauler, deployed a fleet of tractors and trucks to clear the French Quarter, beginning with the perimeter streets then moving to interior roadways.

Residents and tourists alike could be seen enjoying a snow-covered St. Louis Cathedral, a blanket of snow in Jackson Square, and even skiing on Bourbon Street.
