A private, tuition-free school founded by Priscilla Chan, the wife of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, is set to close next year.

Parents at the Primary School, the tuition-free private institution funded by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative serving low-income families in Silicon Valley and the East Bay, said they were shocked to learn that it is shutting down next year — and are worried about where to send their kids to school.

The Primary School, a tuition-free private institution co-founded in 2016 by Priscilla Chan, the wife of Mark Zuckerberg, to support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) values, is set to close at the end of the 2025–2026 school year.
