Most school districts in the Puget Sound and Western Washington were open Friday, including Seattle Public Schools, after intermittent closures during the week.

The week's snow has subsided, but it will continue to be cold through the weekend and early next week around the Kitsap Peninsula, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle. A slight chance of more snow does exist,

We're expecting an icy Friday morning commute after temperatures dip well below freezing, into the mid 20s. Ice and slush could create dangerous and slippery road conditions in the greater Seattle area.

The National Weather Service recorded about an inch of snow at its Seattle office from the overnight precipitation, with another chance for showers before 10 a.m.

Temperatures early Friday will be well below freezing, into the mid 20s. But during the day it will get to the low 40s out on the coast and upper 30s elsewhere.
