Spike Lee transplants Akira Kurosawa's 1963 classic 'High and Low' to modern New York City in the first trailer for 'Highest 2 Lowest,' his fifth and perhaps last collaboration with Denzel Washington.

Denzel Washington and Spike Lee have reunited for the tense kidnapping thriller 'Highest 2 Lowest,' which is loosely based on an Ed McBain novel.

Denzel Washington's son is kidnapped in a ransom plot in "Highest 2 Lowest," the actor's fifth collaboration with Spike Lee. The film arrives Aug. 15.
