KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The snowy weather is leading to slowdowns and crashes on roadways Monday morning throughout the Kansas City metro. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory from 5 a.m. until 6 p.m. FOX4 Meteorologists are tracking 2-4″ of accumulation for the metro.
Snow will begin to fall on Monday morning and last through much of the day. 1 to 3 inches of snow will be possible in Kansas City.
The first storm of the cold-weather season is expected to bring as much as 4 inches of snow Dec. 1 to an area that includes northeast Kansas.
Cities in the Kansas City Metro are prepping for the first snowfall of the 2025 season, with forecasts calling for snow to begin Monday morning and continue through the afternoon and evening.
A quick, early winter storm will move through the area Monday and last through the day. Expect 1–4 inches of snow around northeast Kansas as a whole, with 1-3 inches of snow accumulating especially along and north of I‑70.
The snowpack will not last long tomorrow as a south breeze takes over and temperatures climb to the 40s. Another cold front is expected by Wednesday, which will bring more winter chill for Thursday. There is a slight chance of light wintry mix, but moisture is expected to be sparse and little impactful precipitation is expected.
