Concacaf has launched an investigation into an incident that occurred in the final minutes of the Concacaf Champions Cup match between Los Angeles FC and the Colorado Rapids after Sergi Palencia allegedly called Chidozie Awaziem a derogatory term.

Los Angeles FC defender Sergi Palencia has been cleared of any discriminatory actions by CONCACAF's disciplinary committee following an argument he had with Colorado Rapids defender Chidozie Awaziem on the field last month.

"As players, we need to know that these standards are upheld and that we’re protected on the field,” says Chidozie Awaziem.
