Florida State has made it a priority to keep local talent home over the last couple of recruiting cycles. There are plenty of talented rising seniors across the surrounding areas and the Seminoles are in hot pursuit.

On Friday, FSU head coach Mike Norvell made his way through the Sunshine State. He took the time to drop through Pace High School to visit with four-star offensive lineman Grant Wise. The Seminoles are clearly making Wise a priority along the trenches as offensive line coach Herb Hand was in to see him earlier this week.

Former Florida State quarterback AJ Duffy will be suiting up for his third team in as many seasons in 2025. He entered the NCAA Transfer Portal once again in December and he's found his landing spot. According to On3, Duffy is moving down to the D2 level to play for the University of New Haven.

Florida State is pursuing some of the top recruits across the country to help get the program back to where it's supposed to be. With that being said, there is plenty of talent right in the Seminoles' backyard in the Sunshine State.

On Saturday, 2027 cornerback Jaylen Scott announced his commitment to FSU. Scott is the first member of #Tribe27. He's not yet ranked according to 247Sports.

On Tuesday evening, four-star safety Jaydin Broadnax announced his top seven schools list. The Seminoles made the cut alongside Michigan, Auburn, Florida, Louisville, Syracuse, and USF.

Elite 2026 linebacker Xavier Griffin has been committed to USC in July, but other schools are still in pursuit of him.

There will be an interesting name among the visitors in attendance. On Friday, three-star wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald revealed that he'll be at Florida State on Saturday. Fitzgerald picked up an offer from the Seminoles a few weeks before the program officially hired new wide receivers coach Tim Harris.
