A second wave of College Football Playoff expansion is potentially around the corner, and Nick Saban is on board with the idea of constructing a larger postseason bracket. The legendary former Alabama coach said further expansion "is probably a good thing" as the sport continues to map its path forward into uncharted waters.

Changes are being made to the College Football Playoff. According to reports, there will be implementation on a "straight seeding" model this year and there's a strong possibility that this will be the last year of a 12-team format.

The change means the top four seeds will go to the four highest-ranked teams regardless of their finish within the conference.
