Investigators say six people aboard a private plane died when it crashed in a San Diego neighborhood in heavy fog.

The pilot of a small private plane that crashed in a residential neighborhood of San Diego earlier this week faced fog as he attempted to land, while runway lights and a weather alert system at the airport were not working,

The NTSB says the pilot didn't report any problems or declare an emergency before Thursday's deadly San Diego plane crash.
