The final round of the U.S. Open on Sunday at Oakmont Country Club will resume after a near two-hour delay caused by heavy rain with overnight leader Sam Burns clinging to a one-shot lead over Australian Adam Scott.

The US Open at Oakmont Country Club is back from a rain delay. The tournament was halted at 4:01 p.m. Eastern and returned at 5:40 due to torrential downpours and lightning in the area. Sam Burns holds the lead over Adam Scott through seven holes. But after over 90 minutes without golf, the Father’s Day tra dition is back on from Pittsburgh.

The National Weather Service reports that the weather in the Oakmont, Pennsylvania, area on Sunday is expected to feature rain showers in the morning and scattered showers throughout the day, with a high of around 76 degrees.

U.S. Open Golf Championship hits into Sunday's final round at Oakmont Country Club with just four players under par, highlighted by tournament leader Sam Burns sitting at 4-under for the weekend.

Serving as U.S. Open host for the 10th time, Oakmont has shown its teeth to the field as only four players entered Round 4 with under-par scores. That number is down to one with the first nine having been completed Sunday.

Burns shot 69 to finish at 4-under-par 206, one shot clear of J.J. Spaun (69) and Adam Scott (67, matching the day's low round with Carlos Ortiz). Viktor Hovland (70) is 1-under and Ortiz is even par.

The final round of the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont will be a battle between a number of players seeking their first career major win ... and a 44-year-old looking for his second -- more than a decade removed from his first.
