A week into his new job atop the Bowling Green football program, Eddie George is continuing his overhaul of the Falcons coaching staff.

Eddie George joining hands with Bowling Green football just when the spring practice sessions are starting comes with a heavy advantage for the head coach. Falcons AD Derek van der Merwe feels the awkward timing would give George ample time to show the players how committed he is to the program while the semester is still ongoing,

While spring camp for Bowling Green is imminent, George is set to make his debut as Falcons head coach a bit earlier than most programs; Bowling Green hosts FCS program Lafayette on Thursday, Aug. 28, before traveling nine days later to in-state foe Cincinnati.

During his introduction as Falcons coach, George recalled receiving a call from Meyer as he drove through Bowling Green, Ky., a city roughly seven hours from his new home, while he was heading from the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis back to Nashville. He took it as a sign from God.
