Another round of gusty Santa Ana winds will lift the fire danger Tuesday in the Southern Californian mountain areas. National Weather Service forecasters said winds could begin ramping up as early as Monday night.

Santa Ana winds are expected to usher in dry wildfire conditions for Southern California on New Year's Eve, according to the National Weather Service.

Red Flag Warnings were in place for the Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area, the western San Gabriel Mountains and the 14 Freeway corridor.

A cold front is dropping through the front range of the Rockies today. That will help kick up some gusty winds, with some approaching 60-70 mph into this afternoon.
