Virgin Media O2 has apologised after thousands in the UK reported they were unable to access the internet. Downndetector, which tracks websites, showed more than 10,000 people reported their broadband was not working on Monday morning.

To its credit, Virgin Media is pretty clear about that on its compensation page (even if some might claim that's because it's down so often). Under its 'Automatic Compensation scheme' you're apparently eligible for "£9.76 per day for a total loss of service after 2 full working days from registering the loss of service to us".

As of writing, reports of issues on Downdetector have dropped to under 1,000 (currently 830), so Virgin Media services are finally returning to normal. While the estimate was around 1 p.m., there's still no official time for the fix. However, it appears the outage is finally (and thankfully) easing up!
