The Dallas Wings had quite the scare during Tuesday's loss to the New York Liberty when rookie star Paige Bueckers left the game with a back injury, but it appears she avoided a significant setback.

Selected first overall out of UConn in the 2025 WNBA Draft, 23-year-old Paige Bueckers has lived up to the hype, averaging 18.6 points, 5.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 45.7% from the field and 33.3% from distance.

The WNBA announced Monday that the Dallas Wings rookie earned Rookie of the Month honors for July. Bueckers, the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA draft, also earned the accolade for June. She is the fourth newcomer in franchise history to secure Rookie of the Month honors twice and is the only rookie in the league to repeat this season.
