After a dismal 5-0 loss in Game 2, another sweep appears more likely than not now that the Hurricanes have lost six straight playoff games to the Panthers.

After Game 1 against the Panthers, the Hurricanes were resolute in their philosophy. After Game 2, not so much.

Each one has been worse than the last, but the first five were nowhere near as bad as what happened Thursday, when for the first time against the Panthers in the conference final Carolina looked flustered, overwhelmed and outmatched.

That extended the Hurricanes' losing streak in the conference finals to 13 games. Carolina has gotten off to a poor start Thursday as it tries to get back into the series. It trailed 3-0 after one period and managed only three shots in the first.
