SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (AP) — The father of a 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki, who went missing in the popular Dominican Republic tourist town of Punta Cana while on spring break with friends, said he has asked authorities to widen their investigation.

The race to find a missing pre-med student in the Dominican Republic entered its fourth day Monday after authorities said the 20-year-old from Virginia was last seen walking along a beach in Punta Cana.

Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old college student from Chantilly, has gone missing while on vacation in the Dominican Republic. Konanki is a Pittsburgh University student and Indian citizen who is a permanent US resident was reported missing on March 6.

She was last seen on surveillance video on a beach with several people around 4 a.m. Thursday. Five women and a man left the beach about two hours later, but Konanki was not among them, CNN reported.
