A massive wildfire continued to burn in Central California, forcing evacuations and threatening hundreds of homes.

A day after the Canyon Fire ignited in Ventura County, it has torched nearly 5,000 acres of land and triggered evacuation orders.

The Canyon Fire, which began on Thursday afternoon, has expanded from 30 acres to nearly 5,000 acres in less than 24 hours.

Residents were forced from their homes as raging wildfires exploded in size and threatened thousands of properties and other structures in the region.

As of Friday morning, flames have engulfed more than 4,800 acres, officials said, and the fire is at 0% containment.
