The Houston Astros decided to bring back a familiar face in Carlos Correa on Thursday before MLB’s trade deadline. Houston’s decision to reunite with the veteran infielder is earning praise from MLB Network’s Steve Phillips.

In 2025, he has slashed .264/.315/.381 with seven home runs and 31 RBI in 94 games played. At 30 years old, his best days are likely behind him, and a couple of stints on the injured list the past few years should be a bit concerning.

Correa was at third and batting cleanup. He had played 1,186 games at shortstop in his major league career, and none at third base; he did play some third base for Puerto Rico during the World Baseball Classic.
