Jones Road wildfire 90% contained as rain aids crews
Rain is helping crews still working to put out the Jones Road wildfire in Ocean County. The wildfire has burned over 15,000 acres in Lacey and Ocean Township since it began on April 22. Two teens face arson charges after prosecutors say they lit a bonfire and failed to properly extinguish it.
Crews are crediting the half-inch of rain that fell over the southern region of the fire over the weekend. More passing rain on Monday may also help containment efforts, officials added.
The Jones Road Wildfire in Ocean County, N.J. is still burning, despite hopes the weekend rain might bring it under control.
