Under the partnership terms, Nvidia will invest up to $10 billion in the Anthropic, while Microsoft will contribute up to $5 billion

Microsoft said Tuesday it is partnering with artificial intelligence company Anthropic and chipmaker Nvidia as part of an AI infrastructure deal that moves the software giant further away from its longtime alliance with OpenAI.

Microsoft and Nvidia say they plan a combined investment of up to 15 billion dollars in US-based AI startup Anthropic. The software and semiconductor giants also say Anthropic will spend 30 billion dollars on computing capacity from Microsoft's cloud platform.

Legislation in Washington would give tech leaders preferential access to chips at their data centers around the world.

Nvidia (NVDA) said leading cloud providers are accelerating AI inference for their customers with the company's software platform Dynamo.

Cybersecurity researchers have uncovered a chain of critical remote code execution (RCE) vulnerabilities in major AI inference server frameworks, including those from Meta, Nvidia, Microsoft, and open-source projects such as vLLM and SGLang.
