Stanford professor Abraham Verghese attacked the Trump administration during his speech to Harvard graduates, calling the university's defense of its values "courageous."

As President Donald Trump moves to revoke Harvard University's certification to enroll foreign students, he is falsely claiming that the university is offering “low grade mathematics like two plus two is four.

President Trump is trying to apply enough pressure to force the university to cave, while Harvard, a nearly 400-year-old institution, is aiming to play a long game against an aging president in his final term.

Among them: a puzzling claim that Harvard kids can’t do math.“Did you see that, where the students can’t add two and two and they go to Harvard?” President Trump said on May 23 during an Oval Office briefing.

All visa applicants to Harvard University will be more intensely vetted, following a directive that singles out the institution for scrutiny.
