Kyiv said it would support the Trump administration’s proposal for a cease-fire with Russia. The Kremlin has not said whether it will do the same.

While both countries claim they want peace, there's previously been significant differences between what Kyiv and Moscow have said they'd be prepared to agree to, and there's still plenty that needs to happen before fighting stops.

Kyiv has called on Moscow to respond to the proposed ceasefire - the Kremlin says it is waiting to be briefed by the US.
