Arizona Diamondbacks slugger Eugenio Suárez, who has hit a whopping 36 homers this season, is the hot name on the rumor mill. The Yankees are certainly interested— and have inquired —in bringing in his services, but they reportedly have a backup plan in the works.

The New York Yankees have a backup plan if they are not able to trade for Eugenio Suárez over the trade deadline.

Starting pitcher Marcus Stroman, who has faced Suárez 17 times, called him an “an incredible hitter.” Reliever Luke Weaver, a former teammate of Suárez’s, has battled him 12 times and said “his swing is designed for just a beautiful, majestic pull homer.”
