The eco-friendly bear kitchen at BBRC uses briquette stocks to cook porridge for the bears. Made using vegetable waste, saw dust and wheat husk, these briquette stocks eliminate the need for fuel or firewood. To help save time and energy, the steam that is released while cooking porridge is used to boil eggs as well.
