Over the weekend, the FDNY responded to six multiple-alarm fires. Three people were killed. ALL of those fires were caused by various electrical issues. Today, FDNY Fire Marshals announced the arrest of Oscar Vidal which occurred on Monday, November 1, 2022. FDNY Fire Marshals arrested Vidal, for intentionally setting fire to an outdoor dining structure which extended to two vehicles and a commercial food establishment at 84-19 Roosevelt Avenue in Queens on October 18, 2022. Today the FDNY remembers one of the worst tragedies in Department history, when six Firefighters were killed in a fire at a Brooklyn Waldbaum’s on August 2, 1978.
