I remember the time I posted that I took my daughter to her first pride parade. I thought people were gonna be in the comment saying “Dang! That’s so awesome!!” And instead, I was told that I was a terrible, Mom. I was told that people would be unfollowing me because I’m an LGBTQ ally. That was probably the first time when I realized that not everybody believed the way I believed, and I was shocked. I was amazed at the amount of hate being put towards the community.. “These were not my people.”
