In January 2025, Susan from Pershore, Worcestershire, received a suspicious phone call from a man claiming to be working at a national bank for the fraud investigation team. He falsely claimed that Susan had been a victim of fraud and that the bank was launching an investigation. As part of the deception, the caller stated that a police sergeant would visit Susan to take a statement.
