A tragic case beginning in 2021 came to a close in the Fresno County Superior Court Thursday morning. 41-year-old Antonio Saldana Jr. was sentenced to 18 years to life in prison after he shot and killed his wife, 33-year-old Lisa Saldana, and attempted the murder of another man in the backyard of their Clovis home on Sept. 21 of that year. A former detective with the Fresno Police Department, accused of checking out cash from the police evidence locker and not returning it, made his first appearance in court on Thursday. Rey Medeles was arrested last week and appeared for his arraignment inside Fresno County Superior Court on Thursday.
