The Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead was built in 1837 in Greene County, Missouri. The structure is the original saddle‑bag style log house constructed by Nathan Boone with the labor of enslaved individuals who lived and worked on the property. Nathan, Olive, members of their extended family, and the workers lived at the homestead from the late 1830s into the 1850s. Nathan Boone died on October 16, 1856, and Olive Boone died on November 12, 1858. After their deaths, the house was no longer occup
