We at the National Film and Sound Archive are saddened this week by the loss of David Stratton, one of the legends of the Australian film community. He was a festival director, a lecturer, a feature-film consultant, an author and a reviewer. He championed local filmmakers and artistic freedom. For generations of Australians, ‘The Movie Show’ and ‘At The Movies’, review programs where he sparred and bantered with co-host Margaret Pomeranz over the latest releases, were an entertainment in themsel
