The ceremonial welcoming of Nowruz (Spring Equinox) with dance, music and bonfires is one of the ancient rituals in the Kurdish regions of Iran. Because Nowruz is coinciding with Ramadan this year, the Islamic regime has apparently prohibited public Nowruz ceremonies beyond March 22. Show up dressed in your favorite traditional or colorful costume and join the walk in helping spread cheer and joy throughout the UCLA campus in helping welcome Spring.
